Several years ago, I visited a hidden lotus field in the countryside of Japan. Tucked between small hills, it appeared suddenly, far from any guidebook. There was no one there except my father, my mother, myself...and dragonflies dancing in the summer air. Towering pink blossoms swayed around me, their flowers as large as my head and their stalks standing as tall as I was. Their presence was powerful and serene. Standing among them felt like stepping into "Gokuraku (heaven)". I could feel their vibrant life force, a strength and beauty unlike anything I had known. It was a reminder that even from the deep mud, something pure and full of light can rise. The water lily invites us to find peace within ourselves, to trust in our own unfolding, and to bloom in the light.
