Tanzaku is strips of colourful paper that Japanese people hand write good wishes and gratitude on and then hang it on bamboo trees for the Tanabata Festival (know as the star festival) every summer. The shape of the earring, shows how silver reflect colours around us and how it dangles on the ear reminds me of this magical festival.
